Abstract
The rapid urbanization experienced by Ivorian cities has been accompanied by an increased production of household solid waste. The objective of this study is to show the impact of solid household and similar waste on the environment and on the health of the populations of the city of M'batto. The results are based on the use of data from secondary sources, the interview and the field survey. This results in attacks on urban sanitation and pollution problems, nuisances and deterioration of the living environment, soil, air and water pollution, etc. Indeed, these various problems are caused by the lack of funding, the insufficiency and quality of equipment and the poor management of the various partners. In addition, these environmental problems have enormous consequences which manifest themselves on the health of the population and on the sanitation networks.
